RMT's concern for passenger safety is a sham' - Caroline Pidgeon condemns further strike threat of RMT on Victoria Line

Caroline Pidgeon, the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Transport Spokesperson, commenting on RMT's proposal to take two further 24 hour strikes on the Victoria Line said:

"The RMT's claim that their key concern is safety of passengers is a sham. Trade unions should be upholding safety standards, not defending blatant breaches of safety procedures by their members.

"This strike appears to be about nothing more than defending an RMT member who did not follow the correct safety procedures after opening the doors on the wrong side of a train whilst in service."
